Essiac Extra Gold for Adults 10g

Introduced as the Classic 4-herb Essiac blend, Essiac Extra Gold consists of 65% Sheep sorrel roots and includes the addition of Goldenseal. Although the original Native American Essiac recipe likely used Goldthread (Coptis trifolia) as an ingredient, Canadian Nurse Rene Caisse substituted Goldenseal when it was difficult to find wild-harvested Goldthread for making the tea. Due to the limited availability and commercial feasibility of Goldthread's small yellow roots, which also contain berberine like Goldenseal, Mali Klein initially listed only Goldthread in the Essiac Gold formula during her earlier Essiac research. However, when The Essiac Essentials Handbook was published in 2016, Goldenseal was included as an alternative ingredient in the Essiac Gold recipe. We have always chosen Goldenseal as the most sustainable substitute for Goldthread in our Essiac Gold variation. Fast forward to 2023, we are proud to offer Essiac Extra and Essiac Extra Gold, both containing a higher percentage of Sheep sorrel roots compared to any other product on the market (unless you decide to grow your own, which we highly recommend!). Essiac Extra with the addition of Goldenseal essentially becomes Essiac Extra Gold! Enjoy the benefits!

All the ingredients used in our products are either certified organic or responsibly wildcrafted in the US. The preparation method for Essiac Extra Gold is the same as regular Essiac. Each 10g packet produces 1 quart of concentrated decoction. After opening, please remember to refrigerate the remaining decoction. To make a daily serving, simply add one to two fluid ounces of the concentrated decoction to hot water. Sit back, relax, and savor your Essiac Extra Gold accompanied by a good book!
